Janet Beaken, 76, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, in Loyalhanna Care Center,
Latrobe. She was born May 15, 1933, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Lawrence W.
and Ethel I. (Hill) Baker. Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her
husband, Regis J. Beaken; a great-granddaughter, Thomasina Parr; two brothers,
Lawrence and William Baker; and three sisters, Lois Murray, Alma McLean and Joanne
Riffle. She is survived by two sons, John Z. Beaken, of Latrobe, and Sandor V.
Beaken Sr. and wife, Sherry, of Latrobe; two daughters, Michelle Beaken and Hugh
Galyon, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Ronda Buncie and husband, Paul, of Derry; a
brother, Harold "Butch" Baker, of Latrobe; five sisters, Evelyn Good, of Ligonier,
Betty Reed, of Latrobe, Margaret Baker, of Latrobe, June Baker, of Latrobe, and
Sandy Baker, of Latrobe; 16 grandchildren, Dane Haselden, Danielle Parr, Larry and
Regis Dribelbis, Paul Buncie, Ronda Yothers and husband Alex, Timothy, Christopher,
John, Nicholas and Shara Buncie, Michael Huffman, Amber, Ashley, Sandor Jr. and
Dylan Beaken; two great-grandchildren, Julia and Daniel Yothers; and a number of
nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Bishop Richard
Colborn officiating. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe.
