Helen G. Beam, 90, of Latrobe died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, in Latrobe Area
Hospital. Born Feb. 5, 1907, in Unity Township, she was a daughter of the late
William and Mary Miller Beam. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist
Church, Latrobe, its Rosary Altar Christian Mothers and St. Vincent Auxiliary.
Prior to her retirement in 1969, she was a teacher for Unity Township and
Latrobe area schools with 43 years of service. She also was a member of Latrobe
Business and Professional Women's Club, and the National Pennsylvania,
Westmoreland and Greater Latrobe Area Retired Teachers associations. In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John W. Beam Sr.,
Charles Beam and Edward Beam. Surviving are three nephews, Jack Beam and William
Beam, both of Texas, and Edward Beam of Greensburg RD 7. Friends will be
received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc.,
601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in
St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Thomas Lukac as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township. St. John Rosary Altar
Christian Mothers will recite the rosary 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home.
