Latrobe Bulletin Thu, Apr 25, 1940
John S. Beam, aged 84 years, one month and 10 days who once conducted a general
store and also followed the cigar maker’s trade at Manito, died at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. Andrew B. Guidos, of 401 Lloyd Avenue, Latrobe, at 10:20
o'clock last night He had been retired for several years. Mr. Beam wan born and
raised at Manito and was the son of the late Hiram and Catherine Beam. Mr. Beam
also once conducted a restaurant in Latrobe, with his son, Edward Beam and also
followed the carpentry trade. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma Kintz Beam;
two daughters, Mrs. Andrew B. Guidos of Latrobe and Mrs. Harvey Brandt, of
Harrisburg; one son, Bernard F. Beam, of Coraopolis, and a grandson, Bernard E.
Beam, of Coraopolis. Funeral services will be held at St. Vincent at 10 o'clock
Saturday morning in charge of the Rev. Father Lawrence Rogan, O. S. B. Interment
will be made in the St. Vincent cemetery.
