Marie M. Bergman, 86, of Derry RD 1 died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1988, in Oak Hill
Home of Rest and Care, Greensburg R D 7. She was born June 10, 1902, in Derry
Township, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Anna Katherine Russell Bergman.
She was a member of the Derry Presbyterian Church. She retired from Derry Area
School District in June 1967. She spent most of her career in the West Derry
School, teaching seventh and eighth grades English. She ended her career in the
Derry B School. She was a member of the Derry Area Education Association and the
Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel
Hogan, and two brothers, Clair F. and Gilbert Bergman. She is survived by one
brother, Roy F. Bergman of Derry, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will
be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in
McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Service will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. William J. Haley officiating.
Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
