Joseph A. Blystone Sr., 83, of Hostetter passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, in
Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born March 1, 1930, in Hostetter, he was a son
of the late Raymond Sr. and Mary (Pevarnik) Blystone. Joseph was retired from
the New Alexandria Senior Center. He enjoyed cars and racing and had raced at
the former Latrobe Speedway. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by
his brother, Raymond Blystone Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Sharon M. Blystone, and a
great-grandson, Bryce M. Kissell. Joseph is survived by his wife, Miriam R.
Lentz Blystone of Hostetter; four sons, Joseph A. Blystone Jr. of Greensburg,
Russell R. Blystone and his wife, Deb, of Baggaley, Kenneth W. Blystone of
Greensburg and James A. Blystone of Hostetter; two sisters, Julia Spillar of
Loyalhanna and Mary M. Shafron of Baggaley; six grandchildren, Russell Jr.,
Christopher, Samantha Jo, James Jr., Abigail and Olivanna Lynn Blystone; a
great-granddaughter Taelynn, and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be
no public visitations. Services and interment are private. Arrangements are
being handled by John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
