Katherine A. Bowman, 104, of Derry, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, in Excela Health
Latrobe Hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1910, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late
Jesse L. and Frances Bray Stauffer. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic
Church of Derry. Katherine was a member of the Derry VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the
Derry VFD Ladies Auxiliary. She loved playing bingo and doing puzzles. In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Bowman; her
son, Charles E. Bowman; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving is her daughter,
Barbara A. Henderson, of Derry; six grandchildren, Chuck, Eric and Kathleen Bowman,
Debbie Robinson and Barbara and Bob Henderson; and several great and
great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the
McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where a blessing service will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Stephen West. Interment will follow in the
Coles Cemetery, Derry.
