Death came to the relief of Mrs. Mary E. Bratton, widow of the late Captain John
S. Bratton, last evening. Fourteen weeks ago she was afflicted with a total
paralysis of one side; and her sufferings since that time have been most severe.
For the pest seven weeks she has not been able to speak a word, her speech
having been affected. Mrs. Bratton was aged 72 years, 6 months and 22 days. She
is survived by daughters: Misses Kate, Anna and Mary, and a granddaughter,
Ethel, the daughter of a deceased son. Her late husband Captain John S. Bratton,
died just 15 months ago. Funeral services will be held from her late residence,
number 224 Lloyd avenue, West Latrobe, on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The
services will be conducted by Rev. Ebenezer Flack of the First Presbyterian
church. Interment at Unity cemetery.
