Mrs. Catherine M. Bridge, 89, of Latrobe died Sunday, April 25, 1999, in INS at
Mountain View. She was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late
Charles H. and Dora (Fry) Massena. She was a member of Christ United Church of
Christ, Thomas B. Anderson Post 515 American Legion Auxiliary, Berean Class, and
an 18 year volunteer at the Latrobe Senior Citizen Center.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Bridge
in 1977; a son, Frederick T. Bridge in 1977; a brother, Harry O. Massena, and a
sister, Olive Benbow. She is survived by a son, Joseph N. Bridge (and his wife,
Eleanor) of Latrobe; a daughter, Mrs. James W. (Delores) Claycomb of Latrobe; a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Bridge of Loyalhanna; eight grandchildren, Kathy
Claycomb, Janice Kirby, David Bridge, Lynda Bridge, Tammy Miller, Tina Jennings,
Terri Levey, and Tracey Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles
H. Massena of Latrobe, Nevin N. Massena of Lumberton N. J., and Alvin J. Massena
of Calumet, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace M. Thomas of Greensburg and Mrs. Pearl
Lape of Latrobe.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Frederick
Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral service will be held 11
a.m. Wednesday in Christ United Church of Christ with the Rev. Wayne D. Sautter
officiating. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
