Saturday morning, Mr. Burd went to Ligonier on the Ligonier Valley train, being in apparently the best of health. He ate his dinner in Ligonier and shortly thereafter complained of a pain in his stomach. He obtained some medicine for it but was not much relieved. Having transacted his business he started for home on the 5 o'clock train and suddenly expired fifteen minutes after reaching his residence. His funeral took pace on Monday morning, the body being interred in Unity cemetery.
