Born in Cook Township, March 11, 1900, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Millie Bott Burns. A member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church and Golden Age Club, he formerly was employed by Standard Steel Co., retiring in March 1965 with 42 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Belle (Bracken) Burns; two sons, Earl S. of Jeannette and Robert E. of Latrobe; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Kinsey of Latrobe; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph E. of Latrobe RD 5, and one sister, Mrs. Alva Ankney of Ligonier R D 1. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in M. S. Hartman Funeral Home, Latrobe. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Reid Stewart and the Rev. Charles Carson officiating. Interment will be held in Unity Cemetery.
