Carnes, aged 79 years, died at his home at Oak Grove in Ligonier township last Saturday evening, May 31, 1930. Mr. Carves was a retired farmer. He had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for the past forty years. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Frank L. Carnes of Walker, Ia; John Carnes, of Derry; Charles Carnes, of Ligonier; William Carnes, Springdale; Mrs. H. E. Dickey and Mrs. Stewart Weller, of Ligonier; Mrs. Charles Morehead, of Cisco, Texas and Mabel and Frances Carnes at home. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at his late home. Interment was made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
