The Ligonier Echo Wed Jun 04, 1930
George W. Carnes, aged 79 years, died at his home at Oak Grove in Ligonier
township last Saturday evening, May 31, 1930. Mr. Carves was a retired farmer.
He had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for the past forty years. He is
survived by his wife and the following children: Frank L. Carnes of Walker, Ia;
John Carnes, of Derry; Charles Carnes, of Ligonier; William Carnes, Springdale;
Mrs. H. E. Dickey and Mrs. Stewart Weller, of Ligonier; Mrs. Charles Morehead,
of Cisco, Texas and Mabel and Frances Carnes at home. He is also survived by
sixteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00
o'clock at his late home. Interment was made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
