Clyde W. Carns, 69, of Laughlintown, Pa., died in Latrobe Area Hospital
Wednesday afternoon. He was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Ligonier Twp., a son of the
late John and Edith Buell Carns. He was a member of the Laughlintown Christian
Church. A retiree from the Department of Forest and Waters, he was a former tax
collector in Ligonier Township and a former patrolman for Loyalhanna
Association. He is survived by his widow Mary L. Carns; three brothers, John
Carns of Ligonier Twp., Harry Carns of Bellaire, Md., and Albert Carns of New
Florence R. D. 1, and two half-brothers, Charles Penrod and Russell Carns, both
of Laughlintown. Family will receive friends at the Owen Wolford Funeral Home in
Ligonier from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services
will be held in the Laughlintown Christian Church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the
Rev. Charles Burd officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in
Laughlintown.
