Master Sergeant Franklin F. Carns, 59, of RD 1, Ligonier died Monday, September
27, 1976, in the Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Carns was born April
20, 1917 in Ligonier Township, a son of the late George E. and Anna (Freeman)
Carns. He was a disabled veteran and a member of the Caterpillar Club, the Byers
Tosh American Legion No. 267, the Kingston Vets Sportsmen's Club and was a life
member of V.F.W. Post 734, Ligonier. He is survived by his widow Edith
(Boriotti) Carns; a brother, Jack E. of Export and two sisters, Mrs. Chris
(Jean) Kohlstedt and Mrs. Harold (Florence) Hetler, both of Latrobe. Funeral
services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Snyder
Funeral Home, Ligonier, the Rev. Ray Snair officiating. Interment with full
military rights by Ligonier Veterans Organizations followed in Ligonier Valley
cemetery.
