Carns, 59, of RD 1, Ligonier died Monday, September 27, 1976, in the Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Carns was born April 20, 1917 in Ligonier Township, a son of the late George E. and Anna (Freeman) Carns. He was a disabled veteran and a member of the Caterpillar Club, the Byers Tosh American Legion No. 267, the Kingston Vets Sportsmen's Club and was a life member of V.F.W. Post 734, Ligonier. He is survived by his widow Edith (Boriotti) Carns; a brother, Jack E. of Export and two sisters, Mrs. Chris (Jean) Kohlstedt and Mrs. Harold (Florence) Hetler, both of Latrobe. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Snyder Funeral Home, Ligonier, the Rev. Ray Snair officiating. Interment with full military rights by Ligonier Veterans Organizations followed in Ligonier Valley cemetery.
