Latrobe Bulletin  Sat, Dec 10, 1977 
Earl D. Carns, 78, of Ligonier R.D. 5, died in Latrobe Area Hospital Friday
morning. He was born June 17, 1899, in Ligonier Twp., a son of the late Franklin
and Bertha Ulery Carns. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of
Waterford, F&AM 331 and Ligonier Eagles. He was a retired employee of Kennametal
Inc., Kingston plant. He is survived by his widow, Helen Carns; two children,
Frances L. Miller of Shoemakersville and Robert E. of Derry; four grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Halverson of Somerset and
Lillian Saylor of New Wilmington, and two brothers, Lloyd of Ligonier R.D. 1 and
Fred S. of Ligonier R.D. 3. The family will receive friends in Owen Wolford
Funeral Home, Ligonier, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday
with the Rev. Ray Snair in charge. Private interment will follow in Menoher
Memorial Cemetery.
