Betty Jane Chambers, 63, of Detroit, Mich., (formerly of Greensburg) died
Thursday, Sept. 19, 1985. Born April 15, 1922, in Pleasant Unity, she was a
daughter of Margaret Steiner Chambers of Taylorsville, N. C., and the late John
P. Chambers. She was predeceased by one sister, Margaret E. Waterhouse, in 1981.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three brothers, John E. of Santa
Rosa, Calif., William L. of Mentor, Ohio, and Jay P. of Taylorsville, N. C.;
three sisters, Martha Baldwin of Piedmont, Calif., Helen Doherty of Detroit,
Mich., and Grace Thomas of Oakland, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in James P. Gaut Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity,
from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, at which time a service will be held with the Rev.
John W. Purnell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillview Cemetery, near
Greensburg.
