Eugene B. Cornelius, 92, of Pipetown, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at UPMC
Shadyside, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Hostetter, a son of the
late Frank and Mary (Treskovich) Cornelius. Gene was a U. S. Navy veteran of
World War II and prior to retirement worked at Latrobe Steel. He was a member of
St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Whitney, Unity Township, American Legion Post 982
and Hostetter Slovak Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by a son, Ronald B. Cornelius; two brothers, Richard and Joseph Cornelius, and a
sister, Irene Martin. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edith "Edie"
Goodman Cornelius; a son, Dennis E. Cornelius and wife, Denise, of Unity
Township; three grandsons, Christopher, Brian and Brock; three great-grandsons,
Damon, Isaac and Jake; a sister, Marcella Boova; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou
Cornelius and Grenneth Mason, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services
are private. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Gaut-Bacha
Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity, in charge of arrangements.
