Mrs. Lindy Lou Coughenour, 60, of Roanoke, Va., (formerly of Norvelt, Irwin,
Duncansville, and Greenville, S. C.) died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1988, in Roanoke
Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Latrobe, a daughter of the
late Erbin McKenna and Edna Nicely McKenna Porch. She was a former member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church of Trauger and the Zion Lutheran Church of Hollidaysburg.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Mauldin, S. C., the OES
Chapter 471 of Hollidaysburg and the Ruth Circle of the Zion Lutheran Church of
Hollidaysburg. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Chauncey McKenna.
She is survived by her husband, George Coughenour; two daughters Mrs. Gary
(Patricia) Robinson of Saltsburg and Miss Nancy Coughenour of Aiken, S. C.; one
son, Carl Coughenour of Newry; four grandsons; one brother, William McKenna of
Bedford, N. H., and a stepfather, Edward Porch of Sarasota, Fla. Friends will be
received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home,
Norvelt. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the
Rev. Charles H. Frederickson officiating. Interment will be in Youngstown
Lutheran Cemetery.
