Edgar M. Courage, 73, of 410 E. Church St., Ligonier, died Wednesday in the
Bethlen Home, Ligonier. He was born Aug. 12, 1906, in Wilkinsburg, the son of
the late Sidney C. and Emmeline Reynolds Courage. A retired manager of Mellon
Bank, Ligonier, he was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, Ligonier,
and a former council member. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel
Courage. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Joan) Gipson of Pittsburgh
and Mrs. Lennie (Judy) Berlin of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four grandchildren, and four
sisters, Mrs. James (Hilda) Gipson of Wilkinsburg, Mrs. John (Louise) Mitchell
of Ligonier, Mrs. Robert (Lillian) Bohme of Penn Hills and Mrs. Robert (Gladys)
Vensel of Murrysville. Friends will be received in Owen Wolford Funeral Home,
144 E. Main St., Ligonier, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Conway Keibler officiating. Interment will follow in Ligonier
Valley Cemetery.
