Richard D. Cribbs of 502 E. Fourth St., Derry, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1989. He
was born in Derry, son of the late George I. and Minnie Aljoe Cribbs. A member
of the First United Methodist Church of Derry, he retired after 45 years of
service as a teacher in the Derry Area School District. He is survived by his
wife, Jane McKelvey Cribbs; one daughter, Dr. Joan L. Thiele of Leechburg; one
son, Dr. Richard M. Cribbs of Greensburg; four grandchildren; one great-
grandchild, and one brother, Robert I. of Latrobe. Friends will be received from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday in McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third
Ave., Derry. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the
funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Merritt H. Edner officiating. Interment will
follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry.
