Dwight L. Custis, D.D., 76, native of near Wilmington and brother of Heber Custis of near Wilmington, died Saturday at 1:30 a. m. in South Side Hospital here. He had been ill six years. Funeral services were to be held today in Youngstown and burial was to be in Latrobe, Pa. The Rev. Custis was born near Wilmington the son of Levi and Elizabeth Custis. He had lived in Youngstown since 1940. Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Miriam, who is the wife of the Rev. Robert Kerns, D. D. of Natrona Heights, Pa.; a son, Robert Custis, Providence R. I.; two grandchildren and the brother. Bucyrus, Ohio Telegraph-Forum Tue, Oct 11, 1960 Funeral Held For Dr. Dwight Custis Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. Monday in Youngstown for Dr. Dwight L. Custis, 76, former pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church here. He died of a heart attack Saturday in Youngstown South Side Hospital after a six-year illness, it was learned today. Dr. Custis served here from 1945 until 1949, when he went to Youngstown. He also served as minister of churches in Toronto, Mt. Vernon, and churches in Youngstown. His wife, Nettie, a daughter, Mrs. Mirian Cairns of Natrona Heights, Pa. a son, Robert of Providence, R. I., and a brother, Heber of Wilmington, O., survive.
