Darr, 93, of Acme RD 1, formerly of Stahlstown, died Friday, Aug. 21, 1987, at home. She was born Nov. 5, 1894 in Cook Township, a daughter of the late Leslie and Louisa Hellein Hauger. The oldest member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Stahlstown, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Women, and a participant in the flax scutching, held in Stahlstown her entire life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Darr, in March 1964. two daughters; Viola R. Bowman and Albeulah Darr; two brothers, Elmer and George Hauger; two sisters, Margaret Lenhart and Helen Hood, and two grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Irene) Stahl of Acme, and Mrs. Roy S. (Alberta) Bills of Summerville, S. C.; one son, Leroy Darr of Brookville; 10 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and one sister, Goldie Hoffer of Ligonier RD 4. Service will be held at 1:30 pm Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Stahlstown, with the Rev. Hughie G. Orsborn, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Stahlstown Cemetery.
