Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Feb 17, 1986
Ellis L. Darr, 94, of Springfield, Delaware County, (formerly of Latrobe RD 5,
Unity Township) died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1986, in Delaware County Memorial
Hospital, Philadelphia. He was born Aug. 23, 1891, in Unity Township, a son of
the late Noah and Salome Kuhns Darr. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by
Standard Steel Co. in Latrobe. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in
Youngstown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Anna Mabel Goodman Darr, in 1980 and three sisters. He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Doris) Masson of Springfield; one sister, Percia
Heintzelman of Latrobe; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in St. James Lutheran Church, Youngstown, Saturday from
10 to 11 a.m., when service will be held in the church with the Rev. Philip N.
Gustafson officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
James P. Gaut Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity, is in charge of arrangements.
