Latrobe Bulletin Mon, Dec 16, 1918 
James Davis, who for a number of years conducted a store in the Showalter
building on Depot street, but who for some time past has resided in Washington,
D. C., was killed, Friday, at Berlin, Md., when an automobile in which he was
riding was struck by a train, on a grade crossing. Mr. Davis was connected with
the Forestry Department of the Government, and during the war had been delegated
with important work is connection with the securing of lumber for Government
work. It is supposed that he was on a Government mission when he met his death.
Mr. Davis was the father of Paul Davis, of Washington, to whom Miss Imogene Harr
was married, some years ago.
