Donald L. Davis, 56, Pleasant Unity, died yesterday evening in Latrobe Hospital.
Born Sept 15, 1910, in Pleasant Unity. Owned and operated the Davis
Confectionery, former painting contractor. Veteran of World War II, member of
the Pleasant Unity Methodist Church. Surviving widow, Mrs. Evelyn Ream Davis;
children: Mrs. Edward (Gloria) Greer, Pleasant Unity; Donald J., Nancy Lee, at
home; brothers and sisters: Mrs. Bessie Sweitzer, Armbrust; James W., Clifford
L., Norvelt; Mrs. John (Ella) Baum, Mrs. Pete (Gladys) Dreistadt, Pleasant
Unity; Harry Davis, Penn; Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Hoffman, Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. Dave
(Kathryn) Trice, Manor; Earnest Davis, Derry; Mrs. Vernon (Martha) Wagner,
Hunker. Friends received at the James P. Gaut Funeral Home, Pleasant Unity, 3 to
5 and 7 to 10 p.m., with funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pleasant Unity
Methodist Church, the Rev. Alvin K. Smith officiating. Interment in Pleasant
Unity Methodist Cemetery.
