The yard at Unity slope was last Saturday the scene of a sad accident which robbed a family of a kind and loving husband and father and the company of a good and faithful employee. James Donaldson, aged about 48 years, was employed as a laborer at the Unity slope and was told by the boss to "drop" several cars of iron down the siding. He went to comply and uncoupling the first car started to walk after the car as it moved slowly down the track. He had however, neglected to set the brakes on the rear car and it noiselessly followed him until finally and without warning he was caught between the two cars and instantly killed. Deceased was a member of Post No. 4, G. A. R., of this place and was buried on Sunday by the beautiful G. A. R. rites.
