Latrobe Bulletin Tue, May 24, 1983
Janice Lynne Downs, 22, of 180 Underwood Ave., Woodlawn, Jeannette, died Monday,
May 23, 1983, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 16, 1961,
in Jeannette. a daughter of James R. and Jean Karody Downs. Employed by
Troutman's in Greensburg and Arlington Foods of Jeannette, she was a student at
Westmoreland County Community College. She was preceded in death by her paternal
grandparents, Alex and Marie Miller Downs, and her maternal grandmother, May
Brown Karody. Surviving, in addition to her Parents, are one sister, Jean L.
Downs, at home; four brothers: James R., of Mount Pleasant, and John R., Jeffery
R., and Jay R., all at home, and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ruth
Phillips Karody Sr. of North Huntingdon. Friends will be received from 7 to 9
p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Joseph Stinson Funeral
Home, 109 N. Second St., Jeannette. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette. Interment will follow
in St. Mary Cemetery, Latrobe.
