Louis E. Dumas, 61, of Latrobe R.D.4, died Friday evening in the Latrobe Area
Hospital. He was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Wheeling, W. Va., a son of the late
William and Mathilda Koehler Dumas. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Youngstown; employe of Latrobe Forge & Spring Inc.; past president of
Unity Twp. Lions Club; former member of Toastmasters Club of Latrobe; board
member of Mission Players; Westmoreland County Firemen's Association; past fire
chief of Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department; Latrobe Volunteer-Firemen's
Optional Fund, and superintendent of Youngstown Water Authority. He is survived
by his widow, Ruth Davis Dumas; two sons; Louis (Pete) Dumas of Austintown,
Ohio, and James S. of Latrobe; seven grand-daughters; two brothers and five
sisters, William and Carl Dumas, both of Wheeling, W. Va., Mathilda Jaquay of
Columbus, Ohio, Elizabeth Himrod of Wheeling, W. Va., Mrs. George (Catherine)
Sinclair of Philadelphia, Loretta Wilson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Harriet
Himrod of Livonia, Mich. Friends will be received at the James P. Gaut Funeral
Home, Pleasant Unity, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Church,
Youngstown, with the Rev. Matthew Benko, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will
follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. Members of the Sacred Heart Church will meet at
the funeral home at 7:30 pm Monday to recite the Rosary.
