Robert E. Findle, 73, of Greensburg died Friday, Dec. 19, 1997. Born July 8,
1924, in Trafford, he was a son of the late William and Rose (Connelly) Findle.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Charley Brothers. He was a
member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, VFW Post 33 and the Jeannette
American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 18th
Tank Battalion in the U. S. Army, where he was awarded three bronze stars. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Ann
Natale. Surviving are his wife, Mary Mannella Findle, with whom he would have
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 17, 1998, with two sons, Joseph
(and his wife, Mary) of Greensburg and Robert of San Diego, Calif.; two
daughters, Pauline "Dolly" Roman (and her husband, Dr. Stephen Roman) of Latrobe
and Mary Kopcak (and her husband, Pete) of Vista, Calif.; eight grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, William of Greensburg, Jack of
Jeannette and Jim Mannella of Norvelt; two sisters, Rosemarie Drury of Jeannette
and Kathaleen Popnick of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. The family
received relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9
p.m. Monday in Clement L Pantalone Funeral Home, 409 W. Pittsburgh St.,
Greensburg. Blessing service was held 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral,
Greensburg. Entombment followed in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum near
Greensburg. Natale N. Pantalone, funeral director.
