Charles U. Findley GLHS Teacher, Football Coach, Administrator 
Charles U. Findley, 85, passed away the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, in
Colorado Springs, Colo. Born Oct. 1, 1928, in McKeesport, he was a graduate of
Waynesburg College. From 1946-1948 Charles served in the U. S. Navy. From
1956-1968 Charles served as a teacher and head football coach at Greater Latrobe
High School, capturing Greater Latrobe's only WPIAL championship in football in
1968 before stepping down to become a school administrator from 1968-1985. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Findley, a Connellsville native and
former Greater Latrobe teacher. Charles is survived by his son, Michael C.
Findley of Monument, Colo.; grandson, Benjamin M. Findley of Denver, Colo., and
sisters, Jane Baker and Nancy Armour. Charitable donations in his name can be
made out to the "Greater Latrobe Athletic Fund" and sent to Greater Latrobe High
School, Attn: Mark Mears, Athletic Director, 131 High School Road, Latrobe, PA
15650. Cappadona Funeral Home in Colorado Springs assisted the family with
arrangements.
