Folk died Friday afternoon, at his home in Scottdale, after an extended illness. He was born at Pleasant Unity, December 1, 1867, a son of the late Philip and Nancy Sindorf Folk. A graduate of the Edinboro State Normal school in the class of 1890, he taught school in Unity Township, then became affiliated with the H. C. Frick Company, at its Colonial Mines. While there, he attended law school and later was admitted to practice at the Westmoreland and Fayette County bars. He moved to Scottdale in 1907, and became borough solicitor. He also ran an insurance business. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Maccabees, the Foresters and the Eagles. Surviving are a son, M. J. Folk, of Greensburg, four daughters, Mrs. Agatha Barber, the Misses Mary and Patricia. all of Washington, D. C., and Miss Pauline, at home: also one sister, Mrs. Anthony Dotterway, of Unity Township, and two grandchildren. The late Mrs. L. G. Nessler, of Latrobe, was a sister. Requiem mass will be said in St. John's Church, in Scottdale, at 9 a. m. tomorrow. Interment will be made in St. Vincent's cemetery.
