Forsha, 80, of Derry RD 1, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born July 13, 1920, in Murrysville, a daughter of the late Arthur F. and Deborah Fern Weister Marts. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she was employed as an LPN at Torrance State Hospital for 23 years. She was a member of Derry First United Methodist Church and American Legion, Roger Nolfi Post 324 and was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star 166 of Blairsville. Louise was a veteran of World War II having served as a WAC in various bases in the United States and was a driver for officers in Italy. Upon her discharge in 1945, she was awarded the European Theater of Operations Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Driver's Award. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair C. Forsha, Nov. 12, 1988; four brothers, Winfield, George, Arthur and Homer "Red" Marts and two sisters, Vivian Kochuga and Helen Nicol. Louise is survived by two sons, Jeffrey F. Forsha of Blairsville RD 3 and Dale Forsha at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Sandra) Edmundson of Blairsville RD 3 and Mrs. Louis (Sally) Sedlacko of New Alexandria RD 3; four grand-children, Janelle Schultz, Jack Edmundson Jr., and Chrissy and Becky Forsha; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Cameron, Chad, Chase, Kacie and Cassidy; four sisters, Doris Fatora of Derry, Margaret "Betty" Nicol of North Carolina, Mrs. John (Catherine) Kochuga of Pitcairn and LaVerne Marts of California; also numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home Inc., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David D. Wilson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. Order of Eastern Star will hold service at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. VFW will hold service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
