Fry, a respected citizen of Ligonier township who lived near Laughlintown, died Wednesday, April 8, 1914, aged 75 years, 6 months and 6 days, having been born in Somerset county, Pa., October 2, 1838. The funeral services were held Friday, April 10th, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at his late residence, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. R. Corter, with interment made in the Laurel Hill cemetery, Ligonier township. He was a veteran of the Civil war and the pallbearers were veteran comrades, members of the Fort Ligonier G. A. R. Post, No. 324. Mr. Fry is survived by his widow, 4 sons and 4 daughters: Casper Fry, of Ligonier; Norman, of Laughlintown; Joseph, of Ligonier township; Charles, of Waterford; Mrs. Cashling and Mrs. Kech, of Aitoona, Pa. ; Mrs. Shupe, of Pitcairn; Mrs. David Wolford, of Santa Ana., Cal., and by 23 grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Albert Fry, of Ligonier township, and by four sisters, Mrs. Alex McKlveen, of Ligonier township; Mrs. Harman Horner, of Derry; Mrs. Mary Lohr, of Garrett, Somerset county, and Mrs. Isabelle Fry, of Kansas. One son and one daughter died many years ago. An older brother, David Fry, was killed about two years ago in an elevator accident in New York City.
