Robert H. Funk, 54, 314 East Main St., Mt. Pleasant, died in the H. C. Frick
Community Hospital Tuesday evening. Born Mt. Pleasant. Sept. 26, 1915, son of
the late William and Sarah Waters Funk. Former Member of Independent Footall
League, playing for the Mt. Pleasant Merchants. Employed as caretaker for Third
Ward School Building, Mt. Pleasant, for the past 15 years and recently at the
Rumbaugh Building. Member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant; Mt.
Pleasant Vol. Fire Dept.; Westmoreland County, Firemen's Assn. and the State
Assn. He was Democratic Committee Chairman in the Mt. Pleasant Borough for past
10 years. Member of Italian Beneficial Assn. and the Kosciuszko Assn. of Mt.
Pleasant. Survived by his widow, Ruth Goodman Funk, Mt Pleasant; son, Robert W.
Funk, Acton, Mass.; daughter, Constance R. Funk, Mt. Pleasant: brothers,
William, Walter and Howard, all of Mt. Pleasant; Raymond, St. Petersburg, Fla.;
sisters, Regina Kraissinger, Mt. Pleasant; Martha Vignovich, New Castle, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Luther J. Grimm Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant from
7 to 10 p.m. today then from 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. tomorrow. Requiem mass will
be held 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Mt. Pleasant, the
Rev. Vincent J. Rocco officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
