Sleeping sickness, a most unusual disease, and pneumonia which later developed,
caused the death of Leon Gorski, aged 56 years, of near Baggaley, in the St.
Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, yesterday. Since March, Mr. Gorski had been
troubled with drowsiness, and the sleeping sickness became more pronounced,
until a short time ago when lobar pneumonia developed. Ten days ago he was taken
to the Pittsburgh institution where he died yesterday. He is survived by his
widow and the following children: Viola, who is employed by Mrs. William Thaw,
of Pittsburgh; Anna. Helen and William J., all at home. Funeral services will be
held Sunday afternoon, from the St. John's Polish church, and interment will be
made in St. Vincent's cemetery.
