The Ligonier Echo (Ligonier, Pennsylvania) 16 Oct 1901
Mrs. Susan Catharine Griffith was born February 19th, 1854, died October 9th, 1901,
aged 47 years, 7 months and 20 days. She was married to C. C. Griffith July 3rd,
1873. This union was blessed with eight children: Mrs. Alva McKelvey, of
Wilkinsburg; and Mrs. Anna M. Smith, of East End, Pittsburg; Robert, Emma, Harry,
Edna and Louis, all of Ligonier; one child dying in infancy. Services were held in
the Lutheran church and a memorial sermon preached by her pastor, Rev. H. L.
McMurray, and to a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Interment
took place in the Valley cemetery.
