John E. "Speed" Gunter, 68, of Chestnut Ridge Road, Latrobe RD 5 (Kingston),
died Thursday, Jan. 19, 1995, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Dec. 30,
1926, in Latrobe, a son of the late John and Lucy (Nace) Gunter. Prior to
retirement, he was an employee of Chamberlain Manufacturing. Surviving are his
wife, Ann Piper Gunter; five sons, Don, Clifford, Kenneth, Terry and Kevin, all
of Kingston; five daughters, Mrs. John (Barbara) Sampson of Derry, Mrs. Edward
(Donna) Johnston of Springboro, Rose Gunter of Gray Station, Mrs. Jeffrey
(Regina) Rawals of Baudette, Minn., Nancy Gunter of Derry; a step-brother,
Thomas Herrod of Latrobe and 11 grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7
to 9 pm Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral
Home, 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry where the funeral service will be held at 10 am
Monday with the Rev. F. Neal Galley officiating. Interment will follow in St.
James Cemetery, Youngstown.
