Robert F. Haines, 91, of 1244 Beech Drive, Latrobe, (Lawson Heights) died
Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1985, in Mountain View Center for Rehabilitation and
Convalescent Care, Unity Township. He was born Aug. 5, 1894, in Greensburg, a
son of the late Silas R. and Margaret Werkman Haines. Prior to his retirement,
he owned and operated a farm in Unity Township. He was a life member of St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Trauger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by five brothers, William, Charles, Ralph, Clarence and Edgar Haines; two
sisters, Sarah Noakes and Laura Truxal, and one great-greatgranddaughter. He is
survived by his wife, Edna Shirey Haines; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Grace) Kelly
of Edgewater Terrance, Latrobe; one son, Robert S. of Latrobe RD 3; five
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Sidney (Rosetta)
Noakes of Somerset RD 6 and Mrs. Ruth Weatherton of Latrobe. Friends will be
received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 5 and to 9 p.m. Friday in James P.
Gaut Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday
in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trauger, with the Rev. Charles H. Frederickson
officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Union Cemetery, Trauger, Mount
Pleasant Township.
