Latrobe Bulletin Tue, May 22, 1984
Merle D. Harr, 89, of Latrobe RD 1 (near Whitney) died Monday, May 21, 1984, in
Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Nov. 18, 1894, in Unity Township, a son of
the late Harrison H. and Laura Kuhns Harr. A retired farmer, he was a veteran of
World War I and a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Latrobe. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Myers Harr, in 1964. Surviving are one
son, Merle E. of Latrobe RD 1; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Boring of
Latrobe RD 1; one sister, Mrs. John (Marie) Truxall of Latrobe; five
grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received from 7 to 9
p.m. Monday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in James P. Gaut Funeral Home
Inc., Pleasant Unity. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Christ United
Church of Christ with the Rev. Veldon R. Grasmick officiating. Interment will
follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
