Hallie N. Helfferich, 91, a resident of St. Anne Home, Greensburg, died Tuesday,
Jan. 4, 2000 at St. Anne's. She was born June 16, 1908 in Unity Township, a
daughter of the late Audley S. and Margaret I. (Stump) Helfferich. Prior to
retirement in 1973, she worked as a music teacher and music supervisor at Unity
Township and Greater Latrobe School Districts. She was a member of Prince of
Peace Lutheran Church, Latrobe. She was a former choir director at Prince of
Peace, St. James, and Trinity Lutheran Churches. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by two brothers; Schaller A. and O. Dale Helfferich, and
her sister, Dorothy Gregory. She is survived by a brother, Barney R. Helfferich
and wife Dolores of Latrobe and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and
nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to
5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Gaut-Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasant Unity.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church with the Rev. William E. Ordelt, Jr. officiating. Everyone should go
directly to the church. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn
Township. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Prince of Peace
Organ Fund, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
