J. Flynn, of West Chestnut Avenue, Learns Fate of Boy Wounded in Action Sergeant Homer W. Earl, of Company A, Eleventh United States infantry, died July 10 somewhere in France of wounds received in action. This was the sad news received by the mother of the soldier, Mrs. J. J. Flynn, of 2317 West Chestnut avenue, yesterday morning. The telegram of notification had been sent to Trafford City, her former home, and was forwarded here by a sister. Mrs. Flynn did not know of her son being injured as the telegram sent out from Washington was also sent to the woman's former address. She resided there until last April with her family and upon her marriage to Mr. Flynn in April last she came to this city with members of her family and took up her residence in the Ninth ward. Sergeant Earl was aged 24 years and enlisted at Detroit while on a vacation there in August 1915. He was with Pershing's force in Mexico. Previous to entering the army he was employed as a car repairman at Trafford, Pa. He is survived by his mother, step-father and five brothers, Ollie Earl, at Camp Dix; Ross Earl, at Fort Benjamin Harrison and William, Paul and Charles, at home.
