Vertis K Hughes, 81, of Derry Twp, died Friday, July 6, 
1990, at home. He was born Feb 12, 1909, in Derry Twp, a son 
of the late Vertis L and Elizabeth Stewart Hughes. Prior to 
his retirement in 1971, he was employed by Teledyne-Vasco, 
Latrobe. He was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church 
and the Derry Twp Grange No 1973. In addition to his 
parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth 
Switzer, and a brother, William Hughes. Services will be 
held in Unity Chapel with Rev John C R Silbert officiating. 
Interment will be in Unity Cemetery.
