Mrs. Frances Hughes, 76, of Laurel Estates, Latrobe, (formerly of Blairsville
RD4 and Derry) died Monday, March 26, 1990, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was
born April 9, 1913 in Loyalhanna, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances
Belsan Kubat. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Derry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T.
Hughes, on Dec. 23, 1974, and two sisters, Agnes Cleveland and Mary Hacker. She
is survived by a foster son, David J. Humphrey of Greensburg; eight sisters,
Mrs. Allen (Lillian) Tedrow of Greensburg, Josephine Scaffardi, Emma Wellek,
Rose Hoffman and Bertha Massimino, all of Latrobe, Pauline Breen and Kathryn
Winkler, both of Chicago, Ill., and Anna Boehme of Fort Wayne, Ind., and several
nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday
in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home, 5411 N. Chestnut St., Derry. Service will
be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. A. Michael Boggs
officiating. Entombment will be in Coles Cemetery Mausoleum, Derry.
