Miss M. Mabel Hugus, 88, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at her home.
She was born October 27, 1905 in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Harry A.
and Alice (Anderson) Hugus. She was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church.
Miss Hugus taught school in the Ambridge, Unity Township, and Latrobe School
Districts. She was a graduate of Latrobe High School and the Western
Pennsylvania College for Women (now Carlow College). She was a member of the
Latrobe Music Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Pennsylvania
State and National Retired Teachers Association, and was a former member of the
Business and Professional Women of Latrobe. The last member of her immediate
family, she is survived by cousins. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gaut-Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasant Unity. Funeral
service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Dr.
David B. Batchelder officiating. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery,
Unity Township.
