Hugus, formerly superintendent of the public schools of Westmoreland county, died from diabetes, with which be had been afflicted for some time. Born at New Salem on Feb. 5, 1855, Mr. Hugus was formerly principal of the old Delmont Academy. He was elected county superintendent of Westmoreland county in 1884, and re-elected in 1887 and 1890. Upon his retirement from the office he took up the study of law and was admitted to the Westmoreland county bar in 1895. In 1906 he removed to Williamsport. Mr. Hugus is survived by a son, Clarence Hugus, a Greensburg attorney, and two daughters. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, in the First Reformed church, of Greensburg.
