Passes Away—Had Resided for the Past 50 Years in Greensburg. Henry Hugus, 87, one of Greensburg's oldest citizens, died at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of H. C. Burkett, West Otterman street. Mr. Hugus was a son of the late Paul Hugus, of Unity township, and he is the last member of a distinguished family intimately connected with the business world in their time. Mr. Hugus' death was due to infirmities of age. He was born near Pleasant Unity, November 22, 1828. His father, Paul Hugus, was a descendant of French Hugenout stock. One brother, Daniel Hugus, was the senior member of the firm of Hugus and Hackey, merchants, located on Fifth avenue and Market street, Pittsburgh. Another brother, Paul Hugus, was a member of the firm of Graff, Hugus and Company, Pittsburgh. Both of these firms were leaders in their lines during their day. Mr. Hugus resided in Greensburg with his sister, Mrs. Jno. Zimmerman and family, for upwards of 50 years. Mr. Hugus contracted a cold a week ago, which in his weakened condition, grew worse daily, his system being unable to withstand it. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran church, of this city.— Greensburg Democrat.
