Latrobe Advance Wed, Apr 11, 1888
On Thursday night, near Pleasant Unity, of heart disease, John Hugus, aged 80
years. The interment took place at St. Paul’s cemetery at 2 p. m. on Sunday. The
deceased was one of those rare good men who was esteemed and loved by all the
community. He had spent his entire life on the farm where he died. He was a
leading member of the Reformed church and one of the foundation stones of the
church where he worshiped. In the death of John Hugus, the community loses an
honest, worthy and useful citizen and his family a kind, loving and indulgent
father.
