It is supposed that he was seized with a spell of dizziness as be started to descend the stairs, or else that he tripped and lost his balance. Members of the family rushed to the hall when they heard him fall, and found his body lying at the foot of the stairway, lifeless. They hurriedly sent for a physician, hoping that he might be able to find a spark of life but the physician said that death had been instant, the neck having been broken by the fall. Mr. Hunter was a native of Cook township. He moved to Latrobe some years ago, together with his family. He was aged 65 years, 2 months and 19 days. He is survived by a widow, by four daughters: Mrs. H. L Noel, of Cook township; Mrs. S. M. Campbell, of Greensburg; Miss Rose Hunter, of Youngstown, O.; and Miss Mary Hunter, at home; by five sons: J. S., of Cook township; James, of Mt. Pleasant; Charles, Frank and Albert Hunter, all of Latrobe; and by one brother, James Hunter. Funeral services will be held at the family residence at 7:00 o'clock, tomorrow evening. On Thursday morning, the remains will be taken to the Fairview church, in the Ligonier Valley, where services will be held at 1:00 in the afternoon. The interment will follow in the cemetery at the church. Mr. Hunter was well known iin Latrobe. He had been living a retired life since coming to the town. He had a distinguished air because of a long beard which he wore.
