"Betty" Janesko, 92, of Latrobe RD 6, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1993, at home. She was born Aug. 29, 1901, in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of the late Andrew and Appolonia (Rogvan) Janesko. She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Whitney, the Rosary Altar Society of the church and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies' Union. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, John, Frank and Louis Janesko, and a sister, Anna Staron. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Straka of Latrobe RD 6, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. John (Mary) Staron of Cleveland, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Raymond, Joseph Jr. and S. Mark Straka and Margie Horrell and Mary Kornides, whom she had lived with for many years. Friends were received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Gaut-Bacha Funeral Home Inc., Pleasant Unity. A blessing service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday In the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Whitney, with the Rev. Charles A. Weber, OSB, as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township. Members of the parish recited the rosary at 7:15 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
