George Karas, 76, of Loyalhanna died at his home 6 a.m. Saturday. Born July 26,
1888. Retired coal miner. Member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,
Bradenville, United Mine Workers, Local 95; American Greek Catholic Beneficial
Society; Greek Catholic Lodge 96, Bradenville. Surviving is wife, Anna Karas;
sons, George Matyi and Michael Matyi, both at home. Friends received at John J.
Lopatich Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Ladies Guild of St. Mary's
Byzantine Church will recite rosary at 7:30 p.m. today at funeral home.
Panachida service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Litany for the Deceased held at
9:30 Tuesday, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in. St. Mary's Byzantine
Catholic Church.
