Karns, a well known resident of Unity township, succumbed to a complication of diseases, following a long illness, at his home near Youngstown, at 1:30 o'clock, yesterday afternoon. His illness took a serious form many months ago, and, for a week or more preceding his death he had been speechless, so pronounced had grown his weakness. He was aged 67 years, seven months and eleven days. He was a life-long resident of Unity township, being a member of a pioneer family. He is survived by his widow, Rebecca Karns, and by three children, Cecelia, Alice M., and George H., all at home. Three brothers and two sisters also survive him. The funeral services will be held at his late residence at 10.00 o'clock, tomorrow morning, the services being in charge of the Rev. Dr. Ira M. Wallace, pastor of the St. James Lutheran church. The interment will follow in the Youngstown cemetery.
